Kevin Calia reckons Team 33 Louit April Moto’s Dunlop Superstock Trophy victory – and capture of the FIM Endurance World Cup for 2023 – in the Bol d’Or made up for some of the tough times the squad has experienced in recent races.
Calia was speaking shortly after he and team-mates Christian Gamarino and Simone Saltarelli claimed victory aboard the #33 Kawasaki at Circuit Paul Ricard.
“We knew the race pace would be good for the podium,” said Calia. “Christian make very strong work on the end of race and a big shout out to him because he done a very fast stint after 23 hours of the race. We lost victory for a stupid crash at Spa last season but today the luck came for us and we deserve it because it’s a long time that we were fighting for the win. All the team deserved it and also Christian who was waiting for this kind of result since many times.”
Following Chromeburner-RAC41-Honda’s post-race exclusion for a technical infringement, Team 33 Louit April Moto also takes the FIM Endurance World Cup for the 2023 season with more details to be published at FIMEWC.com soon.
